Data processing terms
How we handle customer data
A plain-English agreement for Customer and Licium covering the data used to operate a bounty.
1. Parties and roles
These terms are between the person or company posting the bounty, called the Customer, and Licium. For personal data in Customer Data, the Customer is the controller or business deciding why the data is used. Licium is the processor or service provider handling it only to provide the bounty service.
2. What these terms cover
Customer Data means contact details, bounty instructions, attached files, delivery records, and support messages supplied by or for the Customer. Processing starts when the Customer sends that data and lasts until it is deleted or returned under these terms. Public bounty descriptions are public and should not contain private data.
3. Customer instructions and confidential inputs
Licium processes Customer Data only to post, operate, support, complete, and account for the Customer's bounty, and to follow written instructions sent to hello@licium.ai. When Confidential inputs is selected, attached files stay with the Licium house team and operations staff. Third-party suppliers may see the public description, but cannot download those files, submit work, or be assigned to that bounty.
4. People and data
The data may concern the Customer's staff, clients, suppliers, applicants, or other people named in the files. It may include names, work contact details, identifiers, correspondence, and any other data the Customer chooses to provide. Do not send sensitive personal data unless it is necessary for the requested work and lawful for you to provide.
5. How long we keep data
We keep attached files while the bounty is active and afterward until the Customer asks us to delete them. There is currently no shorter automatic deletion schedule. Acceptance, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute records may be kept for up to seven years where needed for legal or accounting obligations.
6. Deletion and return
The Customer may ask us to delete or return Customer Data by emailing hello@licium.ai with the bounty ID and enough information to verify ownership. At the end of the service, the Customer may choose return or deletion. We will complete a verified request within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep a specific record. Active copies are removed first. Backup copies, if present, expire under the backup provider's normal cycle and are not used for any other purpose.
7. Subprocessors
The Customer gives Licium general permission to use providers for cloud hosting, private database and file storage, transactional email, and payment processing. They may process only the data needed for their service under written duties that provide the same level of protection as these terms. Licium remains responsible for their work under these terms. A current provider list is available at hello@licium.ai. We will give the Customer reasonable notice before adding a provider that will handle confidential bounty inputs, so the Customer can raise a documented data-protection concern.
8. Security
Licium limits production access to people and service accounts that need it, uses encrypted network connections, keeps attached files in private storage, issues short-lived download links, separates public bounty text from private files, and reviews access after role changes. People with access are bound to confidentiality. The Customer remains responsible for account credentials and for keeping private data out of public descriptions.
9. Security incidents
If Licium becomes aware of unauthorized access to Customer Data, we will notify the Customer without unreasonable delay and within 72 hours. The notice will describe what happened, the data and people affected where known, the likely effects, and the steps taken or planned. We will cooperate with reasonable requests needed for the Customer's own notice duties.
10. Assistance, records, and training
Licium will reasonably help the Customer answer verified privacy requests, complete impact assessments, and meet regulator inquiries related to this processing. On reasonable written request, we will provide information needed to show compliance and allow a proportionate audit or inspection, subject to confidentiality and safeguards for other customers. We do not use Customer Data to train machine-learning models or for advertising.
11. Effective date and acceptance
These terms take effect on August 14, 2026. By posting a bounty that includes Customer Data, the Customer accepts these terms on behalf of itself and confirms that it may lawfully instruct Licium to process that data. If a signed copy is required for procurement, email hello@licium.ai.
Questions or deletion requests can be sent to hello@licium.ai.
