MyPlate.food exposes USDA-based nutrition calculators and the public-domain MyPlate Kitchen recipe collection as read-only tools. Use them to compute nutrition/fitness numbers and to find recipes; they do not store data or give medical advice. Units: numeric body inputs accept metric OR imperial. The profile calculators take height_cm/weight_kg (metric) or height_ft+height_in/weight_lb (imperial) — pass whichever set you have. The single-metric tools (calculate_body_metric, calculate_glp1_protein) take a `unit` flag: metric (cm/kg, the default) or imperial (in/lb). DRI edition: calculate_myplate_plan and calculate_dri accept `edition` = iom2005 (default) or nasem2023. iom2005 is the default on purpose — it is the equation set the public site shows — so only pass nasem2023 when a caller explicitly wants the National Academies' 2023 equations.
